History

Our church has existed in 3 major chapters since 2001.

Chapter 1 - Crossroads Community Church was planted by Dan and Susan Hettiger in 2001. The church rented space in Meadow View Elementary School. In 2006, Pastor Dan resigned and turned the pastoral leadership over to TK Murphy. The church changed its name to Castle Rock Bible Church and moved to a permanent location at the end of Perry Street.

Chapter 2 - After a couple years of this transitional period, another lead pastor search was needed and Pastor Mark Marble was installed as the Senior Pastor in April 2009. Mark oversaw a revitalization of Castle Rock Bible Church with his creative and didactic teaching and leadership. The church expanded from one unit to two in the warehouse at the end of Perry Street and multiple volunteers in the church helped transform the empty space into the church we have now. The church walked through a long, shared grieving process when Mark's wife, Christie, was diagnosed with terminal cancer and then passed away. Mark remarried and oversaw the renaming of the church to Beyond Church in 2020. He retired from pastoral ministry on October 18, 2020 to pursue a career in healthcare with his wife, Shawna.

Chapter 3 - Having joined the staff team earlier in the year, Brad Sutton succeeded Mark Marble as the Lead Pastor of the newly renamed Beyond Church on November 1, 2020. The church has undergone a rediscovery of vision and purpose built around our new name and we are excited to "live God's love beyond ourselves" in the years to come. We can’t wait to see how God will work through our church and invite you to be a part of this new chapter in our history.
